What Causes Burning Sensation While Passing Urine?
Antibiotics and investigations
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Do you mean to say that you have not taken antibiotics?
15-20 pus cells in the urine are definitely an indication of 3 weeks course of an antibiotic.
Take plenty of oral fluids; the most important part is to try to take maximum possible liquids / Water in one go, in a short period of time. This helps to cause forced diuresis, flushing the infection/ stones out of the urinary system.
You may stop Disodium citrate if there is no relief' there are no side effects but it is not helping you either.
I would advise such patients the following:
Investigations of blood- CBC, Sugar, Urea and creatinine
Urine - review; routine, microscopy, culture and sensitivity.
Ultrasonography of the abdomen, particularly for urinary system.
Consultation of an Urologist and Cystourethroscopy if there is no relief after an effective therapy.
IVP- Intravenous Pyelography if need be / though by your Urologist.
Start on an antibiotic treatment as per prescription of your Doctor.
I hope this helps you to take an appropriate course of action to get a proper diagnosis and cure.
USG ASAP
Detailed Answer:
Good to know that your blood, tests are normal.
Ultrasonography should be done as soon as possible ( ASAP).
Please ask for urine culture and sensitivity again.
Since you had pus cells in urine and still have a clinical problem, you should take antibiotics in consultation of your treating Doctor / Urologist.
Take a course of 3 weeks. Oral antibiotics like Oflaxacin / Cefixime or Doxcycyclin in consultation with your Doctor for appropriate dosage and duration.
I prefer to give antibiotic cover for 3 weeks.
