Question: after intercourse with my spouse it burns for a few days when urinating.
could she or myself have some type of infection and this triggers it?
please note: when no intercourse happens for a few days I urinate just fine with no burning sensation
Brief Answer:
Simple Urine & Blood analysis & rule out allergy
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
I empathise with your issue & agree with your hunch. There is probably some form of Infection precipitating this non-specific urinary tract irritation/infection.
Please get your blood & urine tested for yourself with emphasis on Herpes Simplex Ig G/IgM tests & a routine urine test for yourself & a high vaginal swab for chlamydial antigen/antibodies & a gram stain & PAP smear for your wife in addition to a simple urine routine & gram staining for both of you.
This will give you a clear pointer if there is any infection. You will then have to treat this with the appropriate agent..antibiotic, antiviral or antifungal or combinations therof if it turns out to be a mixed infection.
Are you applying any lubricant or using a condom during sex? Sometimes allergies to ingredients of these products including latex can manifest with symptoms that you exhibit.
Please do the needful as suggested & take it from there with your local GP/Physican/Dermatologist as convenient.
Good Luck & Godspeed..hope the issue clears up soon.
