Brief Answer:
Get Ultrasound Abdomen.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
See 2 most important causes of burning in Urine are:
1. Urinary Tract Infection.
2. Stones any where in Urinary tract predominantly urethra.
If your Urine culture is negative then get your Ultrasound KUB (Kidney , Urinary bladder). This would rule out any evidence of stones.
Also if you have been to unprotected sex or you have any itching over there get yourself treated for fungal infection.
If you have any further query please ask me.

I am not sexually active. I have not been for several years and I have no itching.
Also.... I had a complete hysterectomy 4 years ago. I am not sure if I might have a hormone issue.
I also have moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis. I wonder if I could possibly have reactive arthritis, since this affects kidneys/bladder, I believe????
Also, could some diet issue possibly affect burning when urinating? I eat little dairy or red meat and doubt I have stones....
Thank you...

Dear Friend
Welcome to HCM.
See Reactive Arthritis usually presents with Pain and inflammation in joints and genital ulcers
So just check if you have any ulcer over there.
If there is no ulcer this is not reactive arthritis.
As far as diet is concerned yes in a post menopausal female uric acid rich diet can cause hyper uricemia and stones.
So get Ultrasound as I have advised along with Serum Uric Acid.
If you have any further query please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
