What Causes Burning Sensation While Urination?

Me and my partner have unprotected sex and both std free.
A few weeks prior i had a irritated gland on the top of my penis but it went away in a few days ..
Could it just be a bad Uti. I have had those before due to anal intercourse
Thank you
History suggests UTI, complete antibiotic course.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
The symptoms of burning urination, burning sensation while urinating, swelling at the tip of penis, fishy smelling urine all suggest urinary tract infection (UTI).
Itching, irritation and swelling are all features of UTI.
A urine examination-routine and microscopy is required.
This has to be followed by a course of broad spectrum antibiotic is required and as mentioned by you that you are already taking the antibiotic.
However, you need to abstain from sexual contact since there is good chance of spreading the infection to your partner.
Moreover, your partner also needs to be investigated for evidence of UTI since the infection is contagious.
After completion of the antibiotic course, a repeat urine analysis needs to be done to confirm whether the infection has cleared.
If you have more queries, I will be glad to answer.

Continue your antibiotic for 5 days.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,
Since the pain is subsiding, the infection is responding to treatment.
Complete the antibiotic course for 5 days and then observe the swelling.
The swelling may take a little longer.
Abstain for sexual intercourse till the swelling completely subsides. Drink plenty of fluids.
Thanks and take care
