What Causes Burping And Pain In The Ribs?
More possible to be bowel related problem.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
The gallbladder generally gives pain in the right side.
How you are describing it, it is more possible that it is related with the bowel- the burping and the location of the pain indicate that.
Anyway, to rule out important possible options, I would suggest doing an abdominal ultrasound which can check the gallbladder, the kidneys, urinary bladder, liver, spleen, pancreas, ect. It cannot see the bowel, but if other organs are ok, then what remains is the bowel. If you have problems with constipation and/or diarrhea then it confirmed.
If worse or not better, I would recommend seeing a local doctor who can examine you, run the necessary tests and give treatment.
Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.

Since today is a holiday the doctors office is closed. Should I go to an urgent care facility or wait until tomorrow and hope to get to see a doctor?
If worse and not better, then go to the ER.

Hello,
Thank you for the follow up question.
It is a big things to say that you have that diagnoses. It needs lots of testing and thinking before deciding a diagnoses. Out approach is to think first about the more common or if the criteria get fulfilled we think about the most acute problems.
I advise that you wait until tomorrow if your pain is not constant from 2 days and if it is bearable and gets better once in a while.
If the pain has been constant and getting worse, and you haven't had a bowel movement of found something that actually helps to feel a bit better, then it is better to go to the ER and get this clarified as soon as possible.
Hope this helps you.
Feel free to let me know if you have other questions or concerns.

Dr. Papaqako
