What Causes Calcium Deposit Lesion In Vaginal Area?

default
Posted on Mon, 13 Jul 2015
Question: hello, I had written a few days ago asking about a spot on my vulva. Because I was so nervous about it I went to planned parenthood and had them check to make sure it was not std. The doctor stated it was a calcium deposit. She said that they are pretty common. I haven't been able to find anything about it online. Is this possible? I have enclosed a photo. please note I have a slight yeast infection which is the cause of the redness.

Brief Answer:
vulval inclusion cyst..

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
thanks for the query to hcm,
This is definitely not a calcium deposit and and there are no such lesions which deposit calcium in form of a vesicular swelling, shiny , white & cystic . This has been increasing in size from earlier and hence is more likely to be an inclusion cyst of vulval epidermis. This can easily be cured with simply excising the same or rupturing it and removing the cheesy material completely and following it with butadiene bandaging for 3-5 days.
This is not herpes either as the growth should have been in confluence and not a single lesion, most often accompanied with pain and clear fluid filled vesicles. Hence its not an std either.
The lesion appears benign and simply due to frictional injury possible during sex which would have caused infection of the follicle and hence it has formed an inclusion cyst. you can just get it excised by your physician safely.
