default
Posted on Thu, 23 Feb 2017
Question: I have had changes in my bowel habits and I started to take fybogel every other day to bulk up stool as my stool was between type 5 and 6 on bristol stool chart once maybe twice daily... I have never passed any blood nor have I lost weight.do you think I need to go to my gp? My recent labs done showed my hb was 15.4 as I was taking pre pregnancy supplement which had iron in. Since taking fybogel my stool is type 4 on bristol stool chart. I am a 31 year old female with no medical history.

Brief Answer:
Continue with high fiber diet, fruits vegetables, exercise and fluids!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The changes are appropriate and seem to be helped with the stool consistency. This is good and shows that diet might have be the cause of your symptoms. In addition to high fiber diet, drink much fluids, eat much vegetables and fruits and exercise often. These would help you return the bowels to normal.

There is no reason to see a doctor for this at this time.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be for more information and clarifications.
