What Causes Chest And Abdominal Pain And Loose Stools?
Question: I,m 77 yrs olo. For the past 5 days I have bee increasingly terrible stomach (intestinal pain> Tonight I almost went to the ER but after a loose BM the pain is subsiding. When the pain occurs, it is from the m middle of my chest and across my entire lower abdomen intestine area. Please try to help. Thank you VERY MUCH. Can you answer on this page. Could this possibly be appendicitis? Urinary infection? I saw my doc in April and didn't have any symptoms. I'm not afraid of docs...but see them when I feel the need is there...don't run to them for every little thing tho.

I have read your query.
The symptoms are quite suggestive of a slowly developing gastroenteritis.
I would ideally suggest prebiotics, antibiotice like metronidazole and ciprofloxacin for a short course along with antacids and of course, plenty of fluids.
I also dont think that this is possible uti or appendicitis.
Do you have constipation?
