What Causes Chest Pain After Stent?
A comprehensive differential diagnosis is required.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for asking on HCM!
Regarding your chest pain, your doctor needs to perform a differential diagnosis. Besides a careful physical examination, and a resting ECG, some lab tests (cardiac enzymes: CK-MB, Troponin), a chest X ray study, and eventual a cardiac ultrasound, are required. Probably, it has nothing to do with any stent complications (as it is a prolonged pain, and ECG is OK). Nevertheless, we have to be cautious about that issue. If any suspicions is raised, you need to perform a cardiac stress test.
In case of any sudden, strong and unbearable chest pain you can try nitroglycerin s/lingual 50 mcg. It may serve even as a therapeutic differentiation.
Hope to have been helpful! Greetings! Dr. Iliri
