What Causes Chest Pain Along With Breathlessness When Diagnosed With Sudden Stroke?
Question: Hello
I am a little worried. Two weeks ago I had chest pain and went to hospital. I had an ECG, blood pressure taken, blood tests done and chest X-ray, The tests did seem to rule out Acute Coronary Syndrome and doctor thought it might be muscular problem. But since then I have been feeling quite unsteady and shaky. My chest feels tight and am getting breathless quite easily - do you think this could still be a artery or coronary problem that was not picked up? Do you think I am at risk of a sudden stroke or heart attach? Should I go back to hospital urgently?

Brief Answer:
Should do additional tests
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome.
This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
Chest tightness after exertion or breathlessness after exertion can be a sign of underlying heart disease. The tests which were done at that time when you had that event, like ECG and blood tests, are just to rule out any acute event at that particular time period. It does not detect blockage other than period of acute heart event.
For that we have other tests like stress echo or Stress thallium which can rule out any possible blockage in the arteries of heart or possibility of having a heart attack in future. If that is normal, than chances are very very less
So you can go for that test to be sure.
Thanks & take care
