What Causes Chest Pain In The Left Side, And Tiredness When Active After The Removal Of Pulmonary Cyst?
Question: My 7 year old adopted daughter had a cyst on her left lung removed at 3 week old now complains of left chest hurts when active and she get pale and very tired. Has a albuterol inhalers and now on montelukast still complains when very active. Has ran a low grade temp 99 to 100. She did not know about her surgery. Is this just her asthma or something more to be concerned about? How do I get the answer?
Brief Answer:
Get done CT thorax with contrast.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Since she already had pulmonary cyst which was operated, we should definitely rule out recurrent pulmonary cyst in her case.
Pulmonary AV (arteriovenous) malformation is such condition in which recurrent Pulmonary cysts are seen.
So get done CT thorax with contrast.
If this is normal then no need to worry much, her current symptoms are due to asthma only.
But if CT thorax is suggestive of cyst then CT pulmonary angiography is needed for checking AV malformation.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your daughter. Thanks.
