What Causes Chest Pain With Normal ECG Report?

My mother had chest pain few weeks back. And she feels discomfort while breathing when goes for a very long walk. We consulted doctor, ECG was taken twice in 2 weeks and it was normal. Doctor has told its normal and there nothing to worry.
She also felt problem while swallowing food. Felt it was not going in smoothly. For which doctors said it could be due to stress and gave some tablets.
However, I wanted to extra sure and took and second opinion with another Doctor. He suggested to get 2d Echo and Tread mill test be done. 2D Echo was normal. TMT test had a small variation in the second phase and then again report was normal post tread mill test. Doctor has told this could hint to small blocks but not sure on that. He has given a tablet for cholestestrol. And suggested if we want to go for an Angiogram.
Is this variation in a phase in TMT a thing to worry. My mother does not have high BP, sugar and other ailments. She is usually an active person
Thank you so much,

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
I feel her heart is working fine. At this small blockages are evident on angiogram.
However her breathlessness or chest pain on exertion is pointing towards anginal pains.
However I'm more concerned about her swallowing issues which are being neglected!!
Don't wait get her Upper GI Endoscopy done. I have seen in my practice many cases of Esophageal cancer or Acid Peptic Disease presenting with chest pain. Because of chest pain investigations are done for heart and in this hassle a very important symptom of swallowing difficulty is missed.
I strongly advise you to ger her Upper GI Endoscopy done.
If you have any further query please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
