What Causes Chest Pains?
Question: Hello. For about 3 years off and on i have had some strange chest pains. The pains are dull and are on the left side side of my chest. The pains are for the most part constant. But seem to ease with exercise. If i bend over, sneeze, twist or cough hard. The pain gets sharper. It feels like the pain is located right around my heart. If i inhale deep or exhale deep the pain worsens. Over the past month the pain has become more noticable. A few days back i was doing a yoga pose where i support my bodyweight using my arms and chest. While performing this i became dizzy and got a nosebleed. I do not know if this is related to my chest pains. This is causing me a lot of anxiety. My blood pressure seems to be good. I smoke electronic ciggerettes. I have never smoked real tobaco. So pretty much i am a non smoker. I do not have insurance so i have not had any test done. And the pain is not affecting with my day to day life. I would like to know what is causing this. Thank you
Brief Answer:
Pulmonary/cardiac issues to rule out...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your concerns carefully and am sorry for the situation you are in.
The pain you are experiencing is likely to be related to lungs problems. I am sorry to hear that you do not have insurance for further tests.
As the pain has been then for 3 consecutive years (on and off I believe), I think it is time to run chest X-ray and cardiac echo/ECG and abdominal ultrasound for further evaluations.
If you cannot afford the tests now, you can go to ER and get them done there.
I advise to take over the counter pain killers to ease the pain.
Hope it helped!
