What Causes Chills And High Fever Post Cataract Surgery?

Question: Husband is shaking from cold, funning a 101.8 fever, and on Thursday had cataract surgery. Taking drops for eyes----no other meds.

Hello,

I can't find any link between the eye problem and the fever unless he has serious complaints after it.
Does he have any symptoms besides the rigor? Cough, runny nose, headache, diarrhea etc.?

Please inform me about his symptoms and I'll be glad to comment further.

High fever and rigor without an established diagnosis is a potentially dangerous situation. An upper urinary tract infection, a pneumonia or other serious conditions may be suspected. Less dangerous diagnoses are possible too but the things have to be clarified as soon as possible.
So my suggestion is to clarify the situation today so that he will receive prompt treatment in case of a serious infection.
