Brief Answer:
Flu symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care concerns about your son.

From your description it sounds like you son has a viral illness. it is not unusual for a person with an infection will cause both chills, low or high fever. The best thing to do for your son is to get him to rest, drink plenty of fluids and use Tylenol to help maintain body temperature.

If his temperature is not controlled with Tylenol you can also add children's ibuprofen in between the Tylenol to help keep the temperature down. If this doesn't help he should be seen at a medical facility.

If his vomiting does not stop he may also need evaluation by medical personnel. as he could become dehydrated. To help prevent dehydration give him plenty of fluids and give it to him in sips. By sipping the fluids there is less likelihood of worsening his vomiting.

In summary
1. son has viral illness
2. Treat vomiting with sips of fluids
3. Treat chills and fever with Tylenol and ibuprofen if needed
4. Seek medical attention if vomiting not controlled or son becomes dehydrated.
