What Causes Chills, Fatigue And Underarm Rashes?

Question: Sudden onset symptoms,
Chills, no fever, large bumpy red rash in lymphatic tissue under arms and all across abdomen, extreme fatigue. 54 year old female, normal health.

Get evaluation for Viral syndromes.

Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
The description seems to be of a viral infection, that might be causing the rash as well as the chills.
In old age, fever might not be the prominent system. So, we don't totally rely on temperature readings when we suspect some viral like illness.
Such rash is mostly seen in Ebstein Barr Virus infection, Dengue fever, Scrub Typhus, Typhoid fever.
So, i would recommend you to get following investigations:
1. Complete blood count
2. Typhi Dot.
3. Malaria Antigen.
Till the reports are available, i would just recommend her Paracetamol.
Once we have the reports we can discuss the further course of action.
Get her Blood Pressure checked, and if that is low, she would require admission.
