Question: In the last year I have been diagnosed with:
MGUS
Collagenous Colitis
Squamous Cell Carcinoma (treatable)
Hereditary Hemachromotosis (requiring phlebotomy)
In addition I am 5 years post thoracotomy for an EGD gone terribly wrong, including rib resection so I have chronic back and shoulder pain.
I see several specialists, who although in the same hospital system, do consult with each other. I am getting mixed advice on diet, medications, and treatment. I have no trouble advocating for myself and doing my research, but I am in over my head, and my PCP says he just doesn't have the in depth knowledge to address this unusual cocktail of illnesses. My hematologists recommendations for my HH was different than that of my nephrologist, and the HH diet I have been given, is different than my Colagenous Colitis diet. Feeling a bit overwhelmed. Thank you for your thoughts!

Consult a dietitian.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The chronic back and shoulder pain that you have is likely to be due to a muscle spasm. This can be helped with a mild pain killer in combination with a muscle relaxant. Doing hot fomentation and a regular exercise will also help.
Regarding the best diet you need to consult a dietitian who can chalk out a plan best for you in accordance with your tastes and preferences.
Having a healthy diet and doing a regular exercise will help in maintaining the tone of your muscles and will make you feel better.
