When ever I go for jogging, I have this symptom. When I do brisk walking, its not much of a problem . Some 3-4 years back, when I was jogging, had the same symptoms of ache/pain.
Location of the pain: Mostly the ache is on Thighs and calves. If I am sitting or lying, i don't feel any pain. When I walk or stand for longer duration's, I feel uncomfortable. There is nothing like increase or decrease. If i give a break for a day or two,the ache subsides. Again once I start exercising the pain reappears.
My height is ~ 5 feet 6 inches. Wight is 64 kgs. I think, I am not overweight.
Have not done any test for anemia. Test has been done for sugar (before and after meals) and BP checkup. And all results are normal.

Hello XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing back,
From the description you have provided I would like to enlist a few possibilities in your case:
- Insufficient oxygen supply during exercise- while on vigorous exercise like jogging, sufficient amount of oxygen is not supplied to the muscles as you take small breaths and which later leads to anaerobic exercise which relies on the energy stores in the muscles also producing lot of lactate in your body. This will result in bad leg cramps.
for this I would suggest you to start with a slow pace and in between take huge breaths for 2-3mins. Your pulse rate should always fall within 100bpm.
- dehydration- loss of water content while sweating results in dehydration. For this you are required to drink at least half a liter water 45 minutes before you begin jogging.
- Anemia- low hemoglobin causes muscle cramps mainly during exercise. You need to look for blood counts and then start on iron supplements if needed.
- electrolyte imbalance- lot of sodium is lost in sweat during exercise. This is a rare possibility in your case.
- Peripheral vascular disease- where incompetence happens in the blood vessels supplying the muscles thereby causing cramps due to insufficient blood supply. For this you will need to get a color doppler to exactly pin point the location of incompetence if any.
Hope I have answered to your query,
