Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on HCM.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar, a neurologist, and I'd surely help you with your query.
Most common causes of chronic sense of fullness and scalp tenderness in clinical practice are Tension type headache(TTH)[in about 70 percent cases] and Migraine[in about 65 percent cases].This data is from the clinical as well as epidemiological perspective.
You said that you had periodic sharp pains in one area of the head yesterday.Regarding this and your chronic complaint,I would like to ask certain additional clinical history-
1)Did you have the same periodic sharp pains any time in the past(If yes, what is the frequency, like once in a week or month and for how much time {in months or years} ,you are having this complaint)?
2)Were these sharp pains associated with feeling of vomiting?
3)Did they increase on exposure to light or talking with someone(or any other sound)?
4)Did you have any visual disturbances along with?
5)Was this pain throbbing or pulse like.Pulse like meaning coming and going like a heart beat or pulse?or was it dull and persistent for sometime?
6)Did you forget it for sometime while talking with others?
7)Did it improve by wearing some tight band or tight pressure?
8)Are these pains associated with any trigger factor(means does they increase on exposure to any particular factor like sunlight, sound, stress, tea, coffee, cheese ,smoking or anything)?
Please revert back with the above details and I'll feel glad to help you.
