What Causes Clear Discharge From Penis?
I am having a clear discharge from my penis throughout the day. I have tested 3 times since my sexual encounter ALL negative for chlam/ghon HIV and also for HSV1 and HSV2. My first blood test was done at 4 weeks 2nd blood test at 6 weeks and the 3rd at 3 months ALL negative. My Urologist states that I have no STD's as I was worried that I have HSV2 due to the clear discharge and the antibiotics not clearing the discharge up. My Urologist told me that the Blood test that I took which was the Igg would have found anti-bodies at 3 months.. Can you please let me know what I should bring up to my Dr as I am visiting him tomorrow 11/20/2014 so I can ask him what antibiotics I should take to eliminate this clear discharge. Also I would like to bring up that when I urinate I feel like I still have urine in my urethra and I dribble urine throughout the day which is very frustrating. Please advise.
Thank You
Excessive urethral discharge physiological also.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
HSV 2 is an unlikely cause for a prolonged clear discharge from urethra.
If the discharge contains pus cells (more than 5 or in clumps) on examination under microscope, then it indicates infection. If there is no pus cells you can ignore it and it will subside spontaneously or a prostatic massage can be tried at intervals of a fortnight for 2-3 months. Abstinence from sex for a prolonged period also could be a cause.
If there is presence of pus cells, rule out once again Gonorrhea (unlikely), Chlamydia, Urea plasma urealyticum, Mycoplasma Genitalium, Trichomonas infestation and bacterial vaginosis infection. Partner examination and treatment for both or all will solve your problem.
Get well soon.
