What Causes Clear Mucus Discharge From Anus While Standing?
Question: I have clear, a little mucous, coming from my anus, primarialy when standing. There is pain, although not unbearable. This has gone on for about 2 weeks. It has happened before and I just let it run its course. I am XXXXXXX but have not been sexually active for several (guessing 7yrs). I am HIV+

Just because you are XXXXXXX and may have indulged in anal intercourse does not make it the only suspicion; I would like to ask you a few other questions pertaining to your condition to help reach a more accurate diagnosis.
+As you said you have not indulged in any anal intercourse for almost 7 years now, yet the episodes come and go. Would you say that the episodes are related to any food habits, drink or evens stress levels?
+Do you have episodes of diarrhoea or constipation without the presence of a fever?
+Have you ever seen blood in your stool or have your stools ever changed colour?
+I would also like to ask if you have ever been tested for any other STD's sir? If so, have you recently been tested for gonorrhoea? The reason behind asking this is because mucus discharge from anus is common for individuals with HIV, but even more common with those who have HIV and gonorrhoea.
I agree that your presentation could purely be related to HIV, but I would still like to rule out a few other conditions which is why I would appreciate your response to my above questions. I look forward to hearing from you in order to help you further.
