hi. throat infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX.
In my opinion your wife seems to have throat infection. Her soreness in the ear, shivering, exhaustion is because of the infection. If I was her treating doctor I would start her on penicillin antibiotic and anti inflammatory drugs like paracetamol.
In the current situation, I will suggest her to use tylenol cold and flu instead of sudafed as the former also has paracetamol in it. It will act better. She should also try betadine gargle 3 to 4 times a day.
avoid eating oily and cold items. Drink plenty of liquids and fruit juices.
If fever and throat pain doesn't reduce over 48 hours with the above medicine' then I will suggest her to consult doctor get her blood counts done and take antibiotics.
Hope this helps.
Regards
