Wish you a speedy recovery
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Good day.
Sorry to hear that you have an infection. This is an upper respiratory tract infection. Most commonly this is due to viral infection. However, i have noticed that you have allready taken symptomatic medicines but with not much relief. Viral infection usually take 3-4 days to settle. However, i have noted that you have diabetes and COPD. In this scenario, it is better to rule out a bacterial infection and to take antibiotics if necessary. You may also need some blood works to rule out bactaerial infection.
It is important to take sufficient rest and adequate fluids.Sip on warm fluids and do a salt water gargling with warm water. Taking a steam inhalation also might help.
Keep yourself warm. Check your blood glucose 2-3 times a day while you have this infection.
it may be a good idea to visit a hospital if you are feeling terrible.
It is a good idea to get yourself vaccinated on a yearly basis with Flu vaccine. You may also need a single shot of pneumococcal vaccoine. These will help to prevent some seasonal infections and is generally recommended for patients with diabetes and COPD
Wish you a speedy recovery
Kind Regards

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The excess fluid from your mouth and nose is due to congestion caused by infection and allergy. Anti histamines like pheneramine maleate or cetrizine may help. Keflex is Cephalexin, which is a weak antibiotic. If it hasnt helped, then you may need a change in antibiotics. Robafen is Guaifenesin which is to induce cough to bring out phlegm. If you dont have phlegm, dont use it. It may make you cough more.
Sore throat and throat congestion may cause difficulty in swallowing. Salt water gargling and antibiotic gargles may help. If the pain is severe, aspirin or other pain killers may be needed
