What Causes Cold Sore On Upper Lip While On Doxycycline Hyclate?
Question: I am taking one doxycycline HYC DR 500 mg tablet twice a day for 2 weeks for prostatitis. I'm about 80% finished the 2-week regimen. I have developed a cold sore on my upper lip (I get it there periodically). I have a job interview in a few days and would like to start taking valacyclovir HCL 500 mg tablets twice a day for 3 days, which is what I usually do for these cold sores. If I start the valacyclovir, do I need to stop taking the doxycycline?
