Hello,
Thank you writing in healthcare magic.
I have seen carefully your attached picture and I think that this could be a genital herpes.
Usually the symptoms of genital herpes include, pain or itching, (like you have), small red bumps or tiny white blisters(as you have).
Based on this data I think you should test for HSV 2 IgG, or to do a cell culture from a sore in order to define better the diagnosis.
Furthermore , you should know that genital herpes is a common STD but many people who have this don't know they have it.
I hope my answer helps you.
Regards.

Thank you. As mentioned, I do suffer from cold sores (HV-1) and had an outbreak on my lower lip 3 or so weeks ago. it possible I could have infected myself?
I had a partner for almost 12 years that may have tested positive for herpes but I have never had an infection in or around my gentials. Furthermore my current partner does not suffer from either. So i am trying to understand why now, all of a sudden i would have a outbreak in my genital area.

Brief Answer:
it is not impossible to infect yourself, but it's exceedingly rare.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I am sorry for my late response.
Based on your history I think it is more likely that you have taken the genital herpes from your previous partner.
You should know that 80% of those with genital herpes do not know they have it, as they may have no or very mild herpes symptoms.
Furthermore, it is not impossible to self-infect but it's exceedingly rare.
