Brief Answer:
Laryngitis

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns. it seems that the flu was complicated with laryngitis, that's why your wife has lost her voice. laryngitis will require an anti inflammatory treatement as ibuprofen tablets 50 mg every 8 hours. This will also reduce fever. As for cough , you should add a cough suppressant to her treatement. I will list below some warning signs. If she experiences any of these warning signs then take her to the hospital immediately. warning signs include: 1) shortness of breath 2) difficulty breathing 3) severe vomiting 4) chest pain. I hope I answered your question. If you don't have any other clarifications then please close the discussion and rate the answer
