What Causes Constant Dizziness And Neck Pain?
Question: I have been dizzy for a few weeks now. I feel better when I lay down. I noticed a few weeks ago also that my neck was really sore, the back of it. I went to my GP and he told me after about 3 seconds of a conversation that I had BPPV and I should go home and do the Epley Manuever, which I have done several times now with no results. I've read about other people's experience with the Manuever and I don't get dizzier while doing it. I'm really doubting that I have BPPV, especially given that it is just a constant state of dizziness and not a result of a certain movement. Could it be a Eustation tube issue?
Brief Answer:
VideoNystagmoGraphy.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. From your description, this is unlikely to be BPPV.
2. Over the last few weeks, ;there will have been some central compensation as your brain readjusts. Hence without further direct examination and tests, it will not be possible to provide and diagnosis and treatment.
3. Get a VideoNystagmoGraphy (VNG) done. It will help in your diagnosis. Upload the clinical examination notes and test results for further discussion.
4. A Neurotologist should be able to help you out on this.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
