What Causes Constant Hiccups After Food Consumption?
Investigation is required.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If you always get hiccups, then investigation is required. Hiccups may occur sometimes to normal individuals but persistent hiccups is not normal. Pressure to the phrenic nerve or to the tissues that this nerve supplies may result in hiccups.
An upper gastrointestinal endoscopy may reveal stomach-related disorders.
If the endoscopy is clear then an ultrasound scan of the upper abdomen may try to identify structures that exert pressure on the area around the diaphragm. Finally a CT-scan may provide more details that the ultrasound scan particularly if the latter has already detected abnormal findings.
I hope you find my comments helpful!
