What Causes Constant Irritation In The Throat?
my throat always has harshness at the end of my tongue where we are able to touch throat walls bottom most. it gets worst when i am stressed or dehydrated. i smoke at times but not very regular. salt gargle helps but not completely. i got a painkiller + antibiotic + bronchodilator prescribed once which reduced for some time but came back again. this affects my voice quality a lot and i struggle to speak.
what kind of test should i perform to know the exact nature of this chronic issue
i there an alternative to antibiotic that i cab use over long time to keep pain away
is there a spray that i can use during emergency times where i need to talk (like a meeting) that i cant avoid?
Videolaryngoscopy.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. A Videolaryngoscopy will help diagnose the nature of this chronically inflamed tissue.
2. Antibiotics will not relieve the pain or fungal infection. A throat swab can be sent for bacterial culture and antibiotic sensitivity. If this is negative, no antibiotic is required.
3. You can use a saline nasal spray and a medicated oral rinse (such as diluted benzydamine).
4. Reflux, dehydration, mouth breathing, fungal infections, overuse of antibiotics are some of the reasons for your symptoms.
5. The symptoms that you describe are most likely due to chronic laryngitis.
6. Upload images or a video of the Videolaryngoscopy for further evaluation and to discuss treatment options.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
