I feel like I am floating and other things are staying still. I have only fainted once back I my 20's never since then. I am not on any medication. My blood pressure has always been slightly low to normal range.
Brief Answer:
we need few tests to identify the cause
Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
I would like to clarify / differentiate two common complaints that can be misinterpreted just so that one is clear about the symptom. Lightheadedness or dizziness means one is about to faint but the surroundings or the person is not having movement sensations. Vertigo is a feeling that the person or his surroundings are moving in the absence of any real movement by either. Having said that your history indicates lightheadedness. Lightheadedness or dizziness requires a cardiac evaluation whereas vertigo is managed on more neurological lines. Cardiac workup including EKG, Echo, stress test should be done. A temporary fall in blood pressure can occur when one gets up from a seated or lying position (orthostatic hypotension) and its commonly encountered as cause of a single incident. Most likely , there is no serious cause related to such an episode. Blood pressure should be checked and full blood counts with metabolic profile including electrolytes and blood sugar should be checked for to rule out any anemia, hypoglycemia or electrolyte imbalance, in consultation with your doctor.
