What Causes Constant Nauseous Feeling?
Question: Hi,
I developed a sinus infection as a result of a cold nearly 2 months ago. I was put on Doxycyclin for 2 weeks and then a Steroid nasal spray when the inflammation in my nose had not resided. I can smell things quite clearly up close to my nose but cannot taste very much at all. I am now on a course of Amoxicillan and Prednisone to try and get rid of the inflammation once and for all. I also had a CT Scan which did not show any blockages just some mucous and inflammation. If I burp I can taste my food. Does this mean I will get by taste back when everything has cleared up? I am so scared and have a constant nauseous feeling but wonder if this is being caused from stress. Thanks for your help.

Hi Mam,
I have gone through your query; and suggest you that no need to worry your nauseous feeling may be due to the stress or gastro esophageal reflux disease.
For this I personally advised to take over the counter drug i.e. combination of rabeprazole and domperidone empty stomach once a day. To rule out the cause either send me the pic of your throat or consult with your doctor.
You will get taste when everything has cleared up.
You are on good treatment just add netiwash to your treatment after consulting with your treating doctor.

Thank you so much for your reply. You have made me feel a lot less worried. All being well should my taste come back immediately or will it come back gradually over time?
Could all these medications I've been taking cause my nausea? I have not been sick like this in a long time so my body is not used to having all these drugs in its system. I also am very little so they may effect me more than a larger person.
I've also been struggling to eat properly because of the nauseous feeling and because I can't really taste but maybe with all this medication I am taking it would help with my nausea if I had more food in my stomach?
Also would a probiotic help?
