What Causes Constant Numbness In Hands And Feet?

Question: I have had an MRI recently because I was complaining of my hands and feet going numb. also I cannot kneel or cross my legs without feeling numbness. I was diagnosed with 2 herniated discs in my neck. My first visit she mentioned surgery to fix it and then she ordered an EMG. My second visit she never mentioned surgery but she mentioned a shot of cortisone in my hip. I am allergic to steroids. I was mentally prepared for the surgery and the rehab. Now I don't know what is up in the air. What happens if I don't get the surgery. I feel myself self conscience that there is something wrong with my neck.
Brief Answer:
Surgery should be avoided as far as possible
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
I would have preferred to see the MRI before commenting .
I however feel surgery should be avoided as far as possible.
I think that is the reason for not proceeding with surgery and trying conservative methods.
In case the conservative measures fail the surgery can always be planned.
I would also like to see the NCV and EMG report to confirm.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal
