Brief Answer:

Need some information.
The exact cause of neuropathy is not yet clear.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I can understand your concern. You are having severe persistent pain in both legs and back, diabetes and cardiac disease. As you mentioned, doctors have confirmed only neuropathy. The exact cause of neuropathy is still unclear.

Treatment of neuropathic pain is:

-Pain killers which treat neuropathic pain.
-You can take Pregabaline, Gabapentine, Amitriptyline or combination of these. Tramadol after prescription.
These are the most common pain killers for neuropathic pain.
-Local ointment like Diclofenac and Capsaicin can also give some relief.

But this will not cure your disease.

- Finding the cause and treatment of it. This may give you significant or complete relief. To find the cause, I need some information about your disease

- How did they confirm the diagnosis of neuropathy? If nerve conduction velocity or biopsy was done, please send me the reports?

- If any MRI lumbosacral spine was done, what was the report?

- Is there any weakness in lower limbs?

- Any aggravating or relieving factors?

- How's your diabetes? Is it controlled?

- What medications are you taking?

If you can provide me answers of above, I will try to find the cause and help you better. Hope you will understand my point.
