What Causes Constant Ringing In Ear And Headaches?
Question: my 45 year-old daughter has constant ringing in her ear and headaches that wake her up in the night. Yesterday's MRI showed nothing unusual. She has a high stress office job - but without loud noise. Could her troublesome symptoms be from some drug she takes (like BP med), environmental issues -allergies, tampon use, etc.?
Brief Answer:
Yes, BP mess can cause tinnitus.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
The answer to your question is yes, drugs used to control high bloody pressure can cause tinnitus or ringing in the ears, especially those containing diuretics.
Aspirin also causes tinnitus if your daughter uses it.
The list of conditions that can cause tinnitus is long, with more common causes related to ear apparatus damage.
Since MRI resulted negative, serious organic causes of tinnitus are excluded.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Take care.
