What Causes Constant Tiredness?
Some first steps to diagnose the cause of your problem
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your question.
I read it carefully and I understand your concern.
Maybe you have done this, but first things to do that come to my mind are:
- A thorough physical exam at the family doctor who can rule out visible signs that would indicate a problem.
- Do a CBC to check for anemia.
- Do a fece testing for occult blood and if positive consider doing a colonoscopy (if you haven't done one in last 10 years)
- Consider doing a TSH which will rule out thyroid problems.
I these above will rule out the most common causes of fatigue.
Let me know if you have done any so I can advice further.
Looking forward to your follow up question.

I looked more closely and found both CBC & TSH are tested and both fell within the "normal" range. Do you need any further information?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the follow up,
I would state the few possible reasons for your symptoms:
- insufficient supply of oxygen to brain- any nasal conditions or respiratory conditions can cause decreased supply of oxygen to the brain while sleeping, where as a result, you will feel tired and sleepy throughout the rest of the day. If you seem to have a condition of snoring, I would suggest it best for you to consult with an ENT specialist to rule out possible causes.
- low levels of serum testosterone- low levels of testosterone can present with extreme fatigue and tiredness. I would suggest you to get it tested.
Meanwhile, drink plenty of fluids, consume a healthy diet with fruits and vegetables and also take multi-vitamins for a period of one month.
I hope this helps.
