Hello!
Thank you for the query.
To answer your question property I need some more information. Can you please specify when was the surgery done. Was it laparoscopy or regular incision surgery? Does the tenderness appears after foods intake or its present constantly without any particular reason? Are you able to eat normally? Do you have any nausea, vomiting, diarrhea?
If the surgery was done recently and the sensation is in the wound area, please attach a photo of it if its possible.
I`m looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards.
Brief Answer:
Gastroscopy should be done.
Detailed Answer:
In the area where you describe this sensations (upper middle and left abdomen) is where the stomach is located. As you have had the stomach surgery, this organs seems to be the most probable reason of your symptoms. It can be just a acid reflux, an ulcer, inflammation. At worse, you may have stenosis (narrowing) of the stomach and intestine junction. To diagnose the problem, gastroscopy should be done.
That's the first test you should have. Abdominal ultrasound seems advisable as well.
If the sensation is somehow in the wound area, hernia can be suspected and seen in the ultrasound.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
