What Causes Constant White Fluid Leakage From Penis?

Question: Hi there, I am 36 year old male. For the past few days, I am having constant semen leakage all day and night. I have never had a situation like this before. When I urinate, it is slightly painful, also the head of my penis is slightly sore. Please can you advise how I can get this stopped, and what is the root cause of this? Thank you!

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have constant leakage of watery fluid from penis .

At the outset let me state that what you assume to be semen is not a semen but it is a thick mucus secreted by mucus secreting glands located in urethra due to inflammation of Urethral Mucosa (Urethritis).

Please get following basic test done to establish diagnosis
1) Routine urine test and urine culture
2) Swab test and culture of fluid leaking from penis

This will help us to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkalizer thrice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water too keep your urine dilute. This will help to control dysuria.

This should get cured within a week .

Hi Dr. XXXXXXX thank you so much for your prompt response. I am actually currently travelling, so its a bit difficult for me to get to my GP until I return back home in 2 weeks. Would you recommend, I still go ahead and get the Cefixime, Nitrofurantoin an Alkalizer from the pharmacy? Would this be available from the counter?

I will drink lots of water.

Is there anything that I need to be worried about? I really appreciate your response and help here.

- Urinary Alkalinizer
- Nitrofurantion
- Celfixime
I have started the course as you described earlier.
