What Causes Constipation And Dizziness After Having Unwanted 72?
Question: hello doctor,
i am 23 years old and having irregular periods from long time. i had my last period on december 25,2014.
i had unprotected sex on 17 th feb(2015) morning. i took unwanted 72 pill within one hour of sex. now i am feeling bloated tummy,constipation and dizziness. are these side effects of the unwanted 72 pill or m i pregnant? please explain in detail. when can expect my periods? what should i do to have early periods?what is risk of having pregnancy after use of unwanted 72?feeling very tense, don't want to be pregnant. please reply soon.

1. If you have taken an emergency contraceptive pill , ipill within 72 hrs of unprotected sex, then you have done the right thing and you should expect a withdrawal bleed between 5-7 days . The symptoms you are experiencing corroborate with the progesterone withdrawal symptoms and its likely that you should start your bleeding soon , confirming that you would be pregnancy safe.
2. side effects of ipill is often delayed next 2-3 menses by more than a week . This may be experienced in some women , not all , an have to be understood. So accordingly barrier contraception should be used during intercourse to prevent pregnancy in future.
The withdrawal bleeding is likely to be heavy this time as you haven't had your menses since december and likely that endometrial lining would be thickened. So, you need to be informed about the same.
Rest just wait for the withdrawal bleed to initiate in next few days . If you happen to miss the bleed for next 10 days then get a serum beta hcg test done to rule out pregnancy, but thats when you miss .
till then wait for the bleed .

thank you doctor for quick reply. does beta hsg test means pregnacy test?
i am also having white flow from vagina. does withdrawal bleed is menstrural flow or it is different from it? after withdrawal bleed when can expect my periods? what are chances of not having withdrawal bleed in my case? can I assume withdrawal bleed is indication of no pregnancy?

2. withdrawal bleed is menstrual bleed , which should start in few days. This would form your fresh LMP date and the next menses due date would be a month after the present date of withdrawal bleed.
3. if withdrawal bleed or your menses occur then you are not pregnant.
