What Causes Constipation In Newborn?
Foremilk, domeperidone, lansoprazole
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
If your son is being given formula milk then constipation can occur with formula fed children. Its also possible with breast fed babies. If he is breast fed then you may ask his mother to give him more foremilk ( Breast milk/ Colostrum that comes at beginning ). It will help in relieving the constipation, naturally. If the hard stool persists or there is associated abdominal colic or blood covered stool then he would require further examination and investigations. Domeperidone or ondansetron along with Lansoprazole can be given empirically in consult with your doctor to see for improvement.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
If the baby is accepting feed normally and is active when he is awake then this frequency of passing stool is quite normal and you should not worry much as stool consistency can vary from day to day. Remember that Breast milk is best and there is no alternative matching it. Dexolac and amulspray are two alternatives which you can try. However I would wait for a few days to see that the stool consistency be back to normal. It would also be better if he is examined by a doctor to see if there is a need for the medications that I stated in the previous reply.
