What Causes Constipation, Lower Abdominal And Pelvic Aches Post Intake Of Plan B?
They are not side effects of the pill.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
The present symptoms your wife is experiencing are not due to the emergency contraceptive pill. Since she had a normal natural period after consuming the pill, pregnancy also is excluded.
The occurrence of spotting on passing urine suggests the possibility of an urinary infection. Urinalysis will help to sort out the issue. In urinary tract infections also, menstrual disturbances are observed.
A clinical evaluation by a specialist and a trans-vaginal sonogram are going to help plan further management.
Hope your query has been answered. Please feel free to contact for further clarifications. I will be happy to help.

Not due to Plan B.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing back.
The spotting cannot be due to Plan B. Though there may not be any symptoms of urinary tract infection, in the current scenario, I would suggest a routine urinalysis. The passage of brown mucus chunks suggests old bleeding. This needs to be assessed. Constipation is likely to be unrelated to this spotting.
Hope this helps.

Please get a trans-vaginal sonogram done.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing back.
I do not think she is pregnant since she had a normal natural period after the incident. Yet, if you doubt an ectopic or a missed pregnancy, please get clarification through a trans-vaginal/pelvic sonogram.
If there is an ectopic pregnancy, her symptoms would be more of an upper gastric nature like vomiting and the pain would be either a dull ache transforming to severe in nature as the condition evolves.
Constipation can occur due to hormone imbalance; yet, this is not the only reason. This should be evaluated simultaneously.
Please also exclude urinary tract infection as this can also cause lower abdominal pain along with cramps and spotting. There may not be symptoms of burning or urgency typical of an infection, always.
Hope this helps.
