What Causes Cough And Itchy Uvula?
Tropical eosinophilia and allergy.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. You do not have to be tensed due to your history of smoking. Throat or lung cancer does not start like this. However, it is a good time to stop smoking as your risk of cancer increases the longer you continue smoking.
2. There are no medications named 'hetrogen Aulid 250 mg and something omnakothi 10 m'. The nearest matching medications that I can think of are Tab. Hetrazan (diethylcarbamazine), Tab Audi 250mg (azithromycin) and Omnacortil (prednisolone) 10 mg. These are prescription drugs, so I am presuming that you have been examined by a doctor and that a blood test has shown increased eosinophils (hence the Hetrazan). Your X-ray is clear, which is excellent.
3. What is missing from your current, medicines is an anti-allergic and a cough syrup. A de-worming should also be done. Request your doctor to add these.
4. If you have eosiniophila, these symptoms will stop after this treatment. Kindly confirm how these medications were started and how long you have been taking them.
If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
I am taking these medicine for approx 30 days hetrazen 3 times daily ocet L5 1 time daily
Stop the Hetrazan and get an AEC done.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for writing back.
1. There are many causes for eosinophilia, but the fact that the eosinophil count has come down after this treatment shows that this is either tropical eosinophilia or allergy.
2. It is time to stop the Tab. Hetrazan and repeat the AEC (Absolute Eosinophil Count) blood test.
3. Allergy cannot be cured. Tab. Levocetirizine will only help control the symptoms. Once allergy develops, some substances continue acting on the body for a couple of weeks. If you do not feel better after a week or two, visit an allergy specialist.
4. The best way to stop smoking is to suddenly stop and then resist the craving for a few weeks.
5. According to me, you should feel better in a week or two. Prepare a list of foodstuff that increases the itching of the uvula and avoid those items.
If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
Hetrazen has already been stopped by docter. What should i do next .the Aec is done after stopping the medicine and it was 5 % .Before this incident i never faced a problem of allergy and neither my parents.
Continue the levocetirizine and stop smoking.

Hi,
Thank you for writing back.
1. Yes, it is a fact that allergy cannot be cured. However it can be controlled and reduced by medication.
2. Avoiding the allergen is the first choice of treatment. If the allergen cannot be identified or cannot be avoided, medication is used to control the symptoms and reduce the allergic reaction.
3. Since the AEC has decreased after the treatment, you had a transient allergic response. You may still have a residual response (some substances released in the body after an allergy act for several weeks) or you are still exposed to the allergen. It is common that the allergen may never be identified. Allergy may also follow environmental exposure and hence it may not affect only you and not your parents.
4. Continue your levocetirizine for a few days and stop smoking. Visit an Allergy Specialist if the symptoms persist.
If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
