What Causes Coughing And Itchy Skin In A Person With Pace Maker?

joint aches, 1 raised white mole on back? confusion,
doc said she has bronchitis.
She has been on ceftin for 4 days now and is starting to complain of itching.
I suspect shingles but he didn't want to treat shingles. she is 100% paced on her pace maker. she had a stoke last May 14 and we thought she would not be here, but she still is. Her cardiologist is not going to replace the battery on her pacer. Because the quality of life has diminished. What can I do for her aches and itching?
Its not shingles
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Shingles usually presents with group of vesicles. Single lesion is never shingles.
2. Coughing, if associated with any difficulty in breathing, bronchodilators like salbultamol along with nebulizer treatment will be helpful.
3. Avoid any exposure to dust or anybody with infection around her.
4. For aches, paracetamol can be taken. Physiotherapy can also be helpful.
5. Itching, if localized need to look for any irritation or allergy. If generalized, bilirubin evaluation necessary. Avoid rubbing over itch site and rub with soft cloth. Antihistamines like Hydroxyzine can help in reduction of itching.
Need to continue with ceftin for protection against infection.
Hope it helps.
