I have gone through your query and understand your concern. The most likely cause could be gastritis. To help him in a better way please tell me -Is there any nausea/vomiting or burning sensation in chest?
Meanwhile,I would like to treat him with drugs like omeprazole and Tablet.Meftal spas.Get them prescribed by your doctor.
Looking forward to your reply.
Take care

He has no nausea or vomiting. Also no burning sensation.just a pain in his side right below left ribcage. Bowels functions normal. Pain is intense when he coughs. He said the cramp in his stomach felt like a XXXXXXX horse and it went away. He is very uncomfortable it has been over 24 hrs since on set of problems. Not complaining of heartburn
Brief Answer:
Is there any radiation of pain?
Detailed Answer:
Hello
It's good to see you
I have gone through your reply carefully and my suggestion would be to have medicine as discussed earlier for gastritis. I am quite hopeful of improvement. Meanwhile if possible keep him fasting.
If the problem persists ultrasound of abdomen is recommended .
Does he take alcohol and smoke?
Wishing him early recovery.
Regards
