Question: why do I always crave fruit juices? I keep reading they have too
Much sugar, so I am trying to cut back. However, it is difficult.
When I do crave juices, water just doesn't cut it.

Hello,
Such cravings can be due to biological factors. Get sr. calcium, potassium, sugar fasting and PP (to rule out diabetes), TSH, sr. Iron level. If they are affected, correcting them will help a lot.

Take some good multi vitamin which will help tackling minor elemental deficiencies (which can be frequently) seen in such cravings.

Taking plain water will not satify juice craving beacuse-
water is plain while juice is tasty,
water dosent provide sugar and instant energy like juice,
and taking juices or any subsatnce for long time sets up a mechanism in which brain recognises the difference and disatisfaction signals when you take water.

You can take sugar free juices instaed of normal preparations, even take energy drinks which have a decent composiation of minerals instead of juices.
Taking fresh juices prepared at home is not harmful, just dont add any extra sugar or salt.

Moreover, you are not hypertensive or diabetic or have any other major illness. So, dont worry so much.

You can also try to distract your thoughts about juice by doing something else which you enjoy.
