Question: I work in construction management and was on a park site this past Wednesday, 5/24/17, and after walking through high grassy areas back to my vehicle I felt something crawling on me. I thought it was a spider and took it off and threw it outside. My wife was with me walking the site and when we both got home we experienced the insect crawling on both of us at times. I realized they were ticks and we took them off and put them into a sealed plastic back so they can be identified. We assumed there were no more within the house but we have both had ticks on us the last three nights. I went to bed tonight at midnight and about 1:00 am I felt something under my right arm. I reached under my arm in the dark and felt a little thing and picked it off and I kept it between my fingers of my left hand. I got up and turned on a light. And I then noticed an insect moving and put it in a plastic bag that I sealed. It is a tick and I looked under my arm and noticed a small red spot. I put some rubbing alchol on it and I am concerned what I need to do? I don't know if I need to go to the emergency room at the local hospital or wait until morning and call my doctor? And it is quite obvious that my wife and I must have had a batch of ticks attach to our clothing when we were walking through the park site. What do we need to do to kill off the ticks that we must have in our home now? And what do I do about this tick bite?
