What Causes Cut On Opening Of Penis With Tingling Feeling?

Question: Hey I had previously enquired about what is thought to be a cut on right on my urethral opening on my penis. I felt this cut almost the same day and the day after having unprotected oral sex. There was a tingling feeling for about 3 days and the tingling was gone. What is left is the cut right next to my pee hole. What worries me is that it hasn't healed and it has been like that for about 28 days now. I have seen a dermatolgist who said this is probably due to friction during oral sex. It is also important to admit that I did masturbate several times during the past 28 days. However I have been using anti-bacterial ointment but it has still not healed at all.
Brief Answer:
Suspect a superadded fungal infection

Hi
I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
I have seen the attached picture .
You surely seem to have peri meatal cuts.
I would like to know which anti bacterial agent you have been applying since a month.
Any kind of bacterial infection would not persist so long even with treatment.
So I do suspect a superadded fungal infection.
Please tell if you have noticed any whitish discharge or itching over the penile region as well.

I had applied a anti-bacterial ointment. Then I visited a dermatoloogist who asked me to stop using anti-bacterial ointment and he instead perscribed me another cream called Bepanthen. I have been using Bepanthen for more than a week now, and there is still no improvement at all. I want to add that I did masterbate several times in between those 28 day but I had also uses to apply both treatments on a daily basis. And No I have not noticed any whitish discharge or itching during that time. Just a tingling feeling that subcided after a day or two. I want to know if this is for sure a fungal infection, and what should be done to treat it if s? o
Brief Answer:
Need to rule out fungal infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
Since you have been applying long term antibiotics , this predisposes the person to development of a fungal infection called candida .
So I would advise you to apply a topical antifungal cream like canestan or candid cream over the affected areas twice a day.
Any kind of trauma or even masturbation can surely increase the cuts and impair healing process but one month is surely a long time and so we need to change the treatment approach .
I would advise you to follow the above treatment for atleast seven to ten days and then you can follow up in case of persistence of the problem.

Ok I started applying Canestan cream 2 days ago like you advised me to doctor. However, I wanted to enquire if it is ok to swim in swimming pools and in the sea with such a problem? Will the pool water or sea water be of any harm to my cut?
Brief Answer:
Can do swimming
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
Yes you can continue with all your daily activities without any problem.
It is basically a mild fungal infection which is very common.
Swimming would not cause any problems.

Hi Dr. XXXXXXX I wanted to know the average healing time for my cut. Since it has already been with me for about a month. I have been applying Canesten for about 5 days now, I still cannot see dramatic improvement. If this is infact a fungal infection, how long should it take to heal? Considering I have als stopped all sexual activity?o
Brief Answer:
Continue for another week, see a specialist
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
In case of fungal infections, it takes about ten to fourteen days for complete healing.
But we should definitely see some improvement in the condition in about seven to eight days.
I would advise you to continue application of the medicine for atleast ten days. In case the lesion tends to persist, then I would surely recommend you to go ahead and see a local doctor, preferably a dermatologist . A direct examination of the area is always more accurate in terms of the diagnosis and you might need to be evaluated further by a urine routine examination .
