first, you need not to worry at all, you should not think about the extreme of the mole, it might not be a melanoma.

if you can upload me a photograph I will be able to guide you better

this could be due to any of following
a normal mole
burger's disease
Melanoma

I would like further information like

any recent changes in its size shape colour ?
If it causes itching pain or discharge?
Do you smoke if yes then how much and since how long?

chances of melanoma are less likely if you can update me all these details i will definitely tell you the exact diagnosis
