Better to get the mole tested
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I understand from your query that you are concerned about a mole on your son's leg.
A mole needs to be tested to rule out precancerous changes if it shows any change in the color, size, shape, crusting, bleeding or oozing. If you have noticed that the mole has consistently been dark brown and raised since its onset, you do not have to worry. However, if you have noticed that a mole which was previously flat has now become raised and a previously lighter shade has now become dark, please get it checked by your doctor.
Darker colored hair on the legs in a boy with dark hair and eyes is quite normal and I do not think is a cause of concern. The hair consistency and color usually changes around puberty.
Hope this helps you.
Take care.
Regards,
Dr. Johny Chacko
