might be the problem the reports is below. Please see and guide as what could
could be the main cause.
Thanks you
Barium was introduced per rectum and advanced to the cecum with no evidence of obstruction.
The cecum is markedly irritable and partially contracted. The appendix was visualizied in the retrocecal region.
Reflux into the terminal ileum was obtained, however, the very terminal portion of the ileum could not be evaluated.
Impression:
Loss of the haustral markings in the left side of the colon consistent with old colitis. Active colitis cannot be diagnosed.
Markedly irritable and partially contracted cecum, etiology unknown.
Narrowing of the terminal Ileum cannot be exluded.
Please read detailed response.

abnormal barium enema
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXX,
I wanted you to answer my questions so that the barium enema report can then be considered in a clinical scenario to reach a particular diagnosis.
Your barium enema report is abnormal. I would suggest you a colonoscopy and biopsy to rule out an underlying ileo-cecal tuberculosis. This is the condition where there is ileal narrowing and irritable cecum. However associated symptoms are fever, weight loss and abdominal pain.
I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Thakker.
