What Causes Dark Colored Urine?

Question: Hi Doctor,

I am seeing for last few days my urine is dark and yellow in color and has little bit of smell. But when i drink lot of water I see the color changes to white and normal with no odor. Please let me know if anything serious is going on in my body and i need a test or just by drinking lot of water I can be normal. Any medication which i may use to stop it.

Also i am taking Adgain (Cipla hair care medication and Rebosid DSR for GERD) for last few days.

Thanks for writing your query.

There can be many causes of dark colored urine. Some common ones are dehydration, jaundice, intake of some medicine.

I would suggest that you should get yourself clinically examined and investigated.
Following investigations may be helpful :-
1. Liver Function Test ( LFT ).
2. Urine examination( Routine / Microscopic and Culture / Sensitivity ).

You should drink lots of water daily.
Further medical management can be planned according to the reports of the investigations.

Can this be indication of some cancer? Is urine color associated with Cancer?

Any other symptoms i should look for.

I will get these tests done soon.

One last question .. where all in our body lymph nodes are located.. Is it everywhere in body or not present in lower part of legs.. head , around ears..
